A d Val is a training company with a games industry bent – which is just what the Ministry of Defence wanted in training their troops in advanced tank tactics.

Rather than have them tearing up Salisbury Plain and firing rounds at £1,500 a pop, they could immerse their people in realistic virtual tank battlefield anywhere in the world – from the comfort of a UK training centre.

My job was to get their technical competence and realism across and what better way to do that than to juxtapose real and virtual.
